Huxbear Vineyard is a family owned Devon wine estate producing hand crafted wines in the Teign Valley, just outside Chudleigh. Ben and Lucy Hulland planted the vineyard back in 2007 and have been producing award-winning still and sparkling wines since 2010. This South Devon Vineyard and Winery is fully off grid running off solar power. Winery methods have been adapted to keep energy usage to a minimum and produce wine in a sustainable way. On a Huxbear wine tour, you will discover how our Devon vineyard started, our vineyard calendar & our winemaking processes. Standard tours are charged at £14.50 per person. Minimum charges may apply if you are a small group (less than 6 adults), but we will endeavour to combine smaller groups. The tour takes approximately 90 minutes & is followed by a free tasting. You will also receive exclusive discounts on any wine purchases made on the day. Well behaved dogs are welcome to join us! Non walking tours, presented in our bar area, are available on request & are suitable for people with limited mobility. If you fancy getting hands on, the annual grape harvest can start as early as the last week of August and can continue until well into the second half of October. No experience is necessary as full training is given and we will provide gloves and picking snips so all you need to do is turn up (it's usually a good idea to come prepared for wet weather, just in case). Harvesting grapes can be hard work but it is very satisfying. It's also often very sociable, you’ll meet other like-minded people and we will lay on lunch as a reward for your efforts.
