About
At Dunbrody Abbey Visitor Centre, you'll enjoy a unique mix of history, adventure and peaceful surroundings of the scenic Hook Peninsula in County Wexford.
Explore the 13th-century Abbey ruins, rich in medieval Irish heritage. Navigate the magical yew tree maze, a hit with both kids and adults. Play a round of pitch & putt golf, perfect for all ages. Then relax at Aroma Tearooms & Café, where fresh, homemade food and cakes await. Browse our craft shop for handmade gifts and local treasures. It’s more than a visit — it’s a memory you’ll cherish.
Aroma Tearooms and Café is a delightful setting for lunch or afternoon tea. Our welcoming café is the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or simply sit and watch the world go by. Whether you've wandered through the enchanting yew maze, explored the historic abbey, or enjoyed a round of pitch and putt on our 9-hole course, you'll find a welcoming retreat here. Housed in the 19th-century stables that once served the castle, the tea room offers fresh Italian roasted coffee, exquisite teas, organic lemonades, hot toasted sandwiches, freshly made soup, Italian charcuterie platters, and daily specials, alongside freshly baked scones and cakes. Our savoury menu bursts with Mediterranean flavours, featuring veggies, dips, and herbs.
At the rear of Dunbrody Castle, The Craft Shop offers a delightful haven for visitors, boasting not only a charming museum but also a showcase of local craftsmanship. Stepping inside, one is immediately drawn to the centerpiece of the museum: the exquisite Dunbrody Castle miniature Doll’s House, a testament to the skill and artistry of two local craftsmen from the 1950s.
The shop displays an extensive array of handcrafted treasures, lovingly produced by talented artisans in the area. Visitors can peruse a diverse assortment of items, from delicate jewelry pieces to ornate stained and painted glass creations, each reflecting the unique character and craftsmanship of the local community
Please be aware that the Maze, Museum and Aroma Cafe are open seasonally between May and September. The Abbey itself is open year round and you are welcome to still use our parking in-between these months. Water is available when the Visitors Centre is open.
